Priceline.com Inc. (PCLN) announced third quarter EPS of $3.45 after the close Monday, up from the $2.39 in the prior year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $2.92. The company expects to report fourth quarter EPS between $1.52 and $1.62, which is above the consensus estimate of $1.49. Priceline.com gapped open sharply Tuesday and climbed during the first 2 hours of trade. The stock finished higher by $30.49 at $204.22 on the highest volume of the year. Priceline.com broke out of a one-month range and set a new high for the year.
