Tessera Technologies Inc. (TSRA) announced Wednesday morning that Samsung Electronics exercised the renewal option in its Jan. 1, 2005 license agreement with Tessera, to extend the term of that license to May 17, 2017.
Tessera Technologies gapped open sharply higher Wednesday and climbed during the first 45 minutes of trade, before settling into a range. Shares closed up by 2.95 at $17.42 on the highest volume of the year. The stock broke out to a 3 1/2 month high and re-crossed its 200-day moving average.
