Treehouse Foods Inc. (THS) announced Friday morning that it now expects to report fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $0.84 to $0.87, which is below the consensus estimate of $1.07. The company also reduced its full year adjusted EPS forecast to between $2.70 and $2.73, from prior expectations of $2.90 to $3.00. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $2.94.
Treehouse Foods gapped open sharply lower Friday, but traded in a narrow range throughout the session. Shares finished down by 6.10 at $56.76 on the highest volume of the year. The stock dropped to a 4-month low and fell below its 200-day moving average.
