Oil and Natural gas provider Noble Energy, Inc. (NBL), Tuesday said it appointed Kenneth Fisher Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective November 16, 2009. Fisher, succeeds Chris Tong who retired earlier in the year.
Fisher, most recently, was Executive Vice President of Finance for Upstream Americas at Shell. During his tenure with Shell, Fisher held various position of increasing responsibility including that of Chief Financial Officer for Shell Oil Products U.S. Before joining Shell, Fisher was associated with General Electric Company as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Aircraft Engines Services division and a Singapore-based position as Director of Finance & Business Development of GE's Asia Pacific plastics business.
Commenting on the appointment, Charles Davidson, CEO said, "His extensive financial and leadership skills as well as his broad experience with large-scale global energy programs will bring tremendous value to Noble Energy as we enter into a very significant multi-year investment program to develop our recent U.S. and international discoveries."
NBL closed Tuesday's regular trading at $70.00, up $0.81 or 1.17%, on a volume of 1.58 million shares. In after-hours, the stock further gained $0.77 or 1.10%, to trade at $70.77.
