MIC Electronics Ltd. in consortium with LGS Global Ltd. was empaneled as an Information Technology Implementation Agency or ITIA for the role of System Integrator or SI role under Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme or R-APDRP.
Besides, the company individually empaneled as ITIA for the role of Meter Data Acquisition Solution Provider or MDASP role.
R-APDRP is the scheme initiated by Indian government in the 11th Five Year Plan under Ministry of Power. Power Finance Corporation Ltd., New Delhi, is the nodal agency for the purpose of empanelment. Around Rs.50,000 crore is allotted under budgetary allocation in the ratio of 1:4 for Part-A and Part-B covered under this scheme.
As per Part-A of R-APDRP, all the power distribution utilities need to establish automated systems for sustained collection of accurate base-line data and to adopt information technology in the area of Energy Accounting, which is the need of the hour, before strengthening the Power Distribution technology/mechanism.
