Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance Q2 Profit Rises; Guides Q3 - Quick Facts

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. (ULTA) posted second quarter net income of $5.8 million or $0.10 per share, compared to $3.7 million or $0.06 per share in the prior year period.

On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.05 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales increased 9.8% to $273.5 million from $249.1 million in the year-ago period. Comparable store sales decreased 1.7%.

Seven Wall Street analysts expected revenues of $270.96 million for the quarter.

Looking forward, for the third quarter, the company currently expects net sales in the range of $270 million to $278 million. Seven Wall Street analysts expect revenues of $273.75 million.

Comparable stores sales are expected to decrease 1% to 4%.
