Olivia Harrison, widow of late Beatles guitarist George Harrison, is being publicly called out by a neighbor about her attempt to replace an 8-foot, high-security fence around her property.
British actor Rodney Bewes, who starred in the 1960s comedy The Likely Lads, claims that razor wire within the fence almost killed his cat Maurice and cost him thousands in vet bills.
"Is the razor wire necessary? Our cat has been caught three times, once severing an artery, and we know of three other cats which have been injured," Bewes told the BBC. Ms. Harrison, 61, put in an application to Henley Town Council to replace the rotting 10-year-old fence around her property in Oxfordshire.
The Town council however, claims the fence is "unneighbourly and inappropriate and detrimental to the [town's] character." The fence was originally installed after an intruder broke into a different Harrison property and stabbed George seven times in 1999.
Bewes, however, claims that "an intruder would find it very easy to prise off the wooden fencing and enter under the razor wire."
A ruling on the fence is expected later this month.
