YellowBrix, Inc., Thursday said it acquired syndicated general and business news provider to internet and wireless services Screaming Media, a property of Dow Jones & Company Inc., which is a News Corp. (NWS) company.
YellowBrix would acquire product lines, customers and content services under the Screaming Media brand following the deal.
Screaming Media business is indicated as YellowBrix' third acquisition in eight years, of which the first acquisition was that of iSynidcate in 2001 that helped it expand its technology and content offerings. The second acquisition YelloBrix completed was that of FluentMedia in 2004, with a view to incorporate premium brand content to its portfolio.
Jeff Massa, President and Chief Executive Officer, YellowBrix, Inc, said "The acquisition further extends YellowBrix' reach into the corporate community, and will continue to strengthen our position as a leading provider of targeted business news and syndicated information solutions to the corporate market."
NWS is currently trading at $13.66, down $0.38 or 2.71% on a volume of 1.713 million shares on the Nasdaq.
