Host Hotels & Resorts Inc. (HST) reported that its third-quarter net loss available to common stockholders was $57 million or $0.09 per share, compared to net income of $45 million or $0.09 per share in the same quarter last year. Net loss was $58 million for the third quarter of 2009, compared to net income of $47 million for the third quarter of 2008.
Funds from Operations per share was $0.11 for the third quarter of 2009 compared to $0.31 per share for the third quarter of 2008. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.09 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter was $912 million, compared to $1.14 billion in the prior year quarter. Fourteen analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $889.38 million for the quarter.
