Manulife Financial Corp. (MFC,MFC.TO) said it acquired Pottruff & Smith Travel Insurance Brokers Inc., a broker and third party administrator of travel insurance across Canada.
The transaction is expected to close on November 2, 2009.
Commenting on the transaction, Paul Rooney, President and Chief Executive Officer, Manulife Canada, stated,"This acquisition strengthens our existing travel insurance operations and provides momentum to move our fastest-growing Affinity Markets' business segment to higher levels."
