Kansas City Southern Q3 Profit Falls - Quick Facts

Thursday, Kansas City Southern (KSU) said its third-quarter net income available to common shareholders fell to $25.8 million or $0.27 per share from $48.9 million or $0.52 per share in the third quarter of 2008. On average, 8 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.24 per share for the quarter.

Revenues for the quarter declined to $386.1 million from $491.5 million in the comparable period. Four analysts estimated revenues of $392.90 million for the quarter.
