McDermott International Inc. (MDR) reported third-quarter net income attributable to the company of $118.1 million or $0.50 per share, compared to $85.6 million, or $0.37 per share, in the corresponding period of 2008.
The Company's operating income improved 57 percent to $144.8 million in the 2009 third quarter, compared to $92.0 million in the 2008 third quarter, despite a combined $45.1 million increase in depreciation & amortization and pension expenses.
Revenues for the third quarter were $1.68 billion, compared to $1.66 billion in the corresponding period in 2008. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report revenues of $1.53 billion for the third-quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
