Northrop Grumman Corp.(NOC) said that it has received a $17.6 million task order to integrate Phase II of the Host Based Security System or HBSS under the Network Centric Solutions ID/IQ contract from the U.S. Air Force Combat Information Transport System or CITS Program Management Office at Hanscom Air Force Base.
Phase II, also known as HBSS 3.0, is an extensive security solution upgrade to the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), the backbone network in the U.S. Department of Defense for the transfer of classified data. Northrop Grumman will deploy HBSS 3.0 to about 263 active duty Air Force bases and Air National Guard sites around the world.
In addition, Northrop Grumman said that it has been awarded a contract to provide commercial information technology support services to PSC, LLC. Under the terms of the three-year contract, Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector will provide help desk, desktop management and project management services to 3,600 PSC, LLC employees. Services will include desktop anti-virus and security software management.
