Patterson Companies Inc.'s (PDCO) second-quarter net income grew to $49.34 million or $0.41 per share from $46.90 million or $0.40 per share in the previous year. On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.41 for the quarter. Analysts' estimate typically excludes one-time items.
The company posted consolidated sales of $814.95 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2010, up 7% from $759.46 million in the year-earlier quarter. Eight analysts estimated revenues of $788.52 million for the quarter.
In addition, Patterson said it is maintaining its earnings guidance of $1.70 - $1.80 per share for full-year fiscal 2010. Eleven analysts expect earnings per share of $1.76 for the year.
