Digital music retailer iTunes has announced a short list of nominations for its Best Album and Song of the Year honors, with the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" among the nominations for top song.
"Boom Boom Pow" was the first single released from the group's chart topping The E.N.D. album. The song hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and held the top spot for 12 consecutive weeks.
Other nominations for Song of the Year include the Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody," Animal Collective's "My Girls," Biffy Clyro's "That Golden Rule," Dizzee Rascal's "Bonkers," La Roux's "In for the Kill" and Phoenix's "1901."
Among the nominations for Best Album are the Temper Trap's Conditions, Kasabian's West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, La Roux's La Roux and Paolo Nutini's Sunny Side Up.
It was recently announced that the Black Eyed Peas will be performing at this year's Grammy Awards nominations concert on December 2, sharing the stage with such artists as Maxwell and Sugarland.
