Chris Brown's appearance in a Los Angeles courtroom on Thursday resulted in a favorable report for the singer, who is already well on his way to fulfilling the terms of his sentence for assault.

Brown was sentenced on August 25 after pleading guilty in June to attacking his now ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. He was recently ordered to update L.A. County Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg on his compliance with the sentence.

The 20-year-old singer was sentenced to five years of probation and 180 days of community labor. In exchange for serving no time in jail, he was also ordered to complete a 52-week domestic violence prevention class.

According to Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, the singer has already completed 100 hours of labor in Richmond, Virginia, picking up roadside garbage. He has also fulfilled seven of his 52 ordered domestic violence classes.

Schnegg's response to the report was short and simple.

"Excellent!" she said.

Schnegg also warned Brown that he would be sent to jail if he violated any of his probation terms. The singer will return to court on February 18 to further discuss his probation efforts.
