Gran Tierra Energy Inc. (GTE,GTE.TO) said it appointed Julian Garcia as President of Gran Tierra Energy, Colombia. The company stated that, based in Bogota, Garcia will lead the in-country operations team and manage exploration, production and new venture activities, including a 10-well exploration drilling program commencing in the fourth quarter of 2009 and continuing through 2010.
Also, the company noted that Garcia will be replacing Eddie Dyes who, after a 35 year career in the oil and gas industry, including 23 years in Colombia, will be retiring in December, 2009.
