Allegiant Air November Traffic Up 25.3% - Update

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Co. (ALGT), Wednesday said its November traffic and capacity rose from the prior year. November load factor for scheduled services increased 0.6 points, while total system load factor, which includes fixed free contract and non-revenue flying, was down 0.5 percentage points.

For November, Allegiant's traffic measured in revenue passenger miles rose 25.3% to 350.51 million RPMs from 279.65 million RPMs recorded in the same month a year ago. Total system traffic was up 24.4% at 376.61 million compared to 302.84 million a year ago.

Capacity measured in available seat miles were 387.91 million, up 24.6% from 311.25 million in the prior-year month. Total system capacity rose 25% to 435.23 million from 348.06 million a year ago.

Meanwhile in October, Allegiant reported a 31.1% increase in traffic at 325.09 million RPMs, while capacity rose 34.2% to 381.16 million ASMs from the year-earlier month. System load factor was down 2.0 points to 85.3% from 87.3%.

Load factor for the scheduled services in November improved 0.6 percentage points to 90.4% from 89.8%, while total system load factor was down at 86.5% compared with 87% in the same period last year.

In November, the airline carried 374,476 passengers compared to 279,650 passengers carried in the same month a year ago. Total passengers boarded for total system was 408,658, up from 340,731 carried in the year-earlier month.

ALGT is currently trading at $43.29, up $0.79 or 1.74%, on the Nasdaq.
