Smart Modular Technologies (WWH) Inc. (SMOD) announced that it has appointed John Scaramuzzo as Smart's senior vice president and general manager, Storage Business Unit, effective January 4, 2010. Scaramuzzo will report directly to Iain MacKenzie, Smart's president and chief executive officer. John's key areas of responsibilities will include all of SMART's storage business in the enterprise, industrial, defense and aerospace sectors.
Most recently from 2008 to 2009, Scaramuzzo was the senior vice president and general manager of Seagate Technology's Enterprise Compute business unit, where he led the rotating and solid state storage businesses as well as ASIC Technology development.
