After joining forces with a new publisher, Def Leppard is planning to develop a cartoon series. The U.K. rockers recently signed a new deal with Primary Wave, a publisher focusing on alternative marketing and branding outlets.

According to Primary Wave's CEO, Larry Mestel, the cartoon series is already in development and will include the band's five members in various storylines.

The new publishing deal and upcoming cartoon comes during a resurgence for Def Leppard, who are riding high on the success of their 2008 release, Songs From the Sparkle Lounge.

The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 chart and number one on the Rock Albums chart, selling 55,000 copies in its first week. Since its release in April 2008, Def Leppard have supported Songs From the Sparkle Lounge with world wide tours with such bands as Cheap Trick and Poison.
