Tuesday, Randgold Resources Ltd. (GOLD) announced the completion of the sale and purchase agreement, Kibali acquisition.
Earlier, Randgold together with AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. had entered into an agreement for the acquisition of a further 20% interest in Kibali Goldmines from L'Office des Mines d'Or de Kilo-Moto or OKIMO for an aggregate consideration of around US$113.6 million.
Randgold and AngloGold now together hold a 90% joint venture interest in Kibali Goldmines through Kibali Limited (45% attributable to Randgold) with OKIMO holding the remaining 10% interest.
