Air Canada (AC_A.TO, AC_B.TO) said in order to facilitate new security measures, it is waiving excess baggage charges for checked baggage on a temporary basis for U.S.-bound customers travelling from Canada.
The new security measures include limiting the carry-on baggage to one carry-on bag per customer. Further, the airline advised its U.S.-bound passengers to restrict their carry-on item to the absolute minimum. Carriage of any carry-on item would result in lengthy security delays for the passengers, Air Canada said.
