Kiwi Shoe Care, a unit of Sara Lee Corp., (SLE), announced that it has formed a partnership with Comcast-Spectacor, specifically the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers, in support of Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization that facilitates the collection and donation of shoes to those in need across the U.S. and worldwide.
To support the mission of Soles4Souls, KIWI and Comcast-Spectacor will ask fans to donate new or gently worn shoes in a two-day effort beginning when the Philadelphia 76ers tip off against the Los Angeles Lakers on January 29 and followed by the Philadelphia Flyers face-off against the New York Islanders on January 30.
Willie Green of the Philadelphia 76ers and Ian Laperriere of the Philadelphia Flyers will also lend their support to this initiative with in-arena, online and radio public service announcements highlighting this community initiative.
