Energen Corp. (EGN) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $58.62 million or $0.81 per share, compared to $65.29 million or $0.91 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Total operating revenues for the quarter decreased to $362.81 million from $375.79 million in the prior-year quarter.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.87 per share, on revenues of $369.52 million for the quarter. Analysts estimates typically exclude special items.
Energen reaffirmed its 2010 earnings guidance of $4.20 - $4.60 per share. Analysts currently expect earnings of $3.56 per share for fiscal 2009.
