Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) posted fourth quarter net income attributable to common stockholders of $229 million or $0.46 per share, compared to $786 million or $1.69 per share in the year-ago period. Adjusted net income from continuing operations was $21 million or $0.04 per share, compared to a loss of $45 million or $0.12 per share in the year-ago quarter.
On average, 27 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.03 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said the results include certain items affecting comparability that are typically excluded by the investment community in published estimates.
Total revenues for the quarter were $2.41 billion, compared to $2.92 billion in last year quarter. Fifteen Wall Street analysts expected revenues of $2.36 billion.
