Continental Airlines January Traffic Up 8.5% - Quick Facts

Continental Airlines (CAL) reported that its traffic in January increased 8.5% from January 2009, on a capacity increase of 2.8%.

The airline said its January traffic rose 8.5% to 6.98 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 6.43 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

The airline's January capacity was 9.04 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 2.8% from 8.79 billion ASMs in the prior year period.

Consolidated load factor for January 2010 was 77.2%, up 4.0 points from 73.2% in January 2009.
