The Beatles will soon receive a tribute from Roberta Flack, who is planning to release an album of their songs.

The "Killing Me Softly" singer, who once lived above John Lennon and Yoko Ono in New York, told Spinner about the project and her progress.

"(It's) all Beatles covers," she said. "They did 1,088 songs, so I'm gonna do about 14 of them. I've finished about eight, so we're on our way. I have 'Here, There and Everywhere,' 'Here Comes the Sun,' 'Come Together,' 'Eleanor Rigby,' 'Let It Be,' 'Hey Jude.'"

The album, which will be released on April 21, has yet to be given a title.

"Somebody said call it Let It Be, Roberta Flack, Let It Be or Roberta Does the Beatles. All of that is so commercial, I can't think about that. I'm too busy trying to figure out if I can sing 'Oh Darling,'" Flack said.

The new disc will be Flack's 13th solo studio album.
