Dave Grohl has confirmed that the Foo Fighters will head back into the studio to record a new album this fall. Though Grohl has spent most of the last year recording and touring with bandmates Josh Homme and John Paul Jones in Them Crooked Vultures, the former Nirvana drummer revealed that the Foo Fighters have already begun work on the new disc.
In a recent interview with British radio, he explained that the band has "just started writing and we're going to start recording in September so life is full of music."
While Grohl pushes forward with his jam-packed schedule, plans are also shaping up for a biopic of his late Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain. Grohl is said to be a character in the film, and according to People, his choice of an onscreen counterpart may come as a surprise.
"I don't know about anyone else, but I'm crossing my fingers that Shelley Duvall plays me," Grohl said in the interview. "Shelley Duvall in The Shining . . . That is MY face, you cannot get any closer than that."
