Dream Girls star Jennifer Hudson has been tapped by CBS Sports as the new voice behind "One Shining Moment," the song used as the theme for the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship.
Hudson, who is the first female to sing the song, joins an impressive cast of past singers who have recorded the song, including Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass.
The new version of "One Shining Moment" will debut on April 5 with the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament and will air live on CBS.
"This is the biggest honor to be the first woman to record 'One Shining Moment,'" Hudson said in a statement. "I am so excited to be singing such a great song behind the likes of Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass. The song inspires you. It moves you. It motivates you and helps you reach that goal and that dream."
CBS is expecting about 40 million viewers to tune in for the event.
