Online staffing company Dice Holdings Inc. (DHX) reported a surge in fourth-quarter net income to $10.46 million or $0.15 per share from $5.74 million or $0.08 per share in the prior-year period.
On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.15 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues for the quarter grew 25 percent to $47.36 million from $37.89 million in the year-ago period. Analysts had a consensus estimate of $47.30 million.
Looking ahead to the first quarter, Dice Holdings forecast net income of $7.1 million on revenues of $46 million. Analysts expect earnings of $0.13 per share for the quarter on revenues of $48.63 million.
For fiscal year 2012, the company forecast net income of $386 million on revenues of $197 million. Analysts expect the company to earn $0.62 per share on revenues of $201.09 million.
