Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has teamed up with blockchain-powered fan engagement platform Chiliz ($CHZ) in an exclusive global partnership to offer fan engagement solutions to their over 318 million global fans.
UFC is an American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based out of Las Vegas in Nevada. It is one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
Under the partnership, Chiliz will offer UFC fans a closer connection between them, their favourite teams, and their favourite UFC fighter through its fan voting & rewards app Socios.com.
Following the launch of UFC Fan Tokens, all token holders, as well as those who own $CHZ, will be able to access UFC-related offers and rewards, including tickets to UFC events or pre-sale access to tickets through this partnership.
Blockchain-powered fan engagement platform Socios.com is already in global partnerships with eight leading global football clubs over the past two years.
They are Spain's Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona as well as European league clubs, France's Paris Saint-Germain, Italy's Juventus and AS Roma as well as UK's West Ham United, Turkey's Galatasaray Spor Kulübü and Argentina's Club Atlético Independiente.
Some of them have also launched club-branded digital assets known as fan tokens that can be used by fans to take part in polls and surveys about the club's everyday activities and earn unique prizes related to the Club on Socios.com. It has recently partnered esports giants OG to produce Fan Tokens.
Socios.com also partnered with Lagardere Sports and Entertainment to onboard fans of the National Football League and Major League Baseball.
The fan token will be tradeable against the Socios.com platform's native token, ChiliZ ($CHZ), with the fans needed to purchase ChiliZ tokens to exchange into Fan Tokens through a process known as a FTO.
The price of the token will be defined by market demand arising from factors including fan sentiment, results, tournament victories and transfer window activity.
Recently, Socios.com announced plans to launch blockchain-powered COVID-19 immunity passes for global football fans to enable them to attend live games at stadiums in the aftermath of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Socios Pass, an ID and immunity verification tool, will allow fans holding "Proof of Immunity" to return to the stadium and watch live games more safely and securely. Socios Pass will use blockchain technology and QR codes.
