UK consumer price inflation accelerated more-than-expected in September, to reach its recent high marked in July, led mainly by rising food prices, preliminary figures from the Office for National Statistics showed Wednesday.
The consumer price index rose 10.1 percent year-on-year following 9.9 percent increase in August. Economists had forecast 10.0 percent inflation.
