PDI CEO Michael Marquard retires with immediate effect - quick facts

PDI, Inc. (PDII) announced the retirement of Michael Marquard as Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the company's Board of Directors, effective today. The company will immediately begin a search for a new CEO.

A CEO search committee headed by Jan Martens Vecsi, a member of PDI's Board of Directors, has been formed and will engage the services of a retained search firm.

While the search is underway, John Dugan, Chairman of the Board, former CEO and founder of the company, will play a more active role in overseeing operations. Additionally, Jeffrey Smith, PDI's Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, has been named interim CEO. James Farrell, Vice President, Controller, will be assuming Smith's CFO duties on an interim basis.
