Suzlon Energy announced its entry into Sri Lankan wind market with an order to supply 10MW of wind turbine capacity to a project developed by Senok Wind Power Pvt. Ltd. The project, supplied with eight units of Suzlon's S64-1.25 MW wind turbines would come up in the Kalpitiya region of Sri Lanka.
The supply of turbines would commence in financial year 2009 and the project is scheduled to be completed by financial year 2010.
