Slash Says He's Been A 'Band Guy' Since He Was A Teenager

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Slash, while plugging his new album Apocalyptic Love, spoke about his long-time affinity for working with fellow musicians:

"I realized I was a band guy when I was 15, when I only knew like four licks and two chords and I started a band."

"I like working in a band atmosphere," the former Guns N' Roses guitarist explained. "I think something about that camaraderie. I do not want to do it all by myself. I'm like that with everything else; I don't want to do that with music."

Slash also claims that the new album, which is due out May 22, is much more of a group effort and shouldn't be considered a Slash solo album. He worked with singer-guitarist Myles Kennedy, drummer Brent Fitz and bassist Todd Kerns. All three musicians will accompany Slash on the ensuing tour this summer.
