U.K. housing equity injections remained at GBP 8.47 billion in the fourth quarter, the Bank of England showed Monday. Economists were expecting injections to fall to GBP 7.6 billion.

Housing equity withdrawal as a percentage of post-tax income was -3.2 percent in the fourth quarter, unchanged from the percentage for the third quarter.

HEW occurs when withdrawals of housing equity by the household sector are larger than injections of equity.
