Europe New Car Registrations Increase: ACEA

Europe's new car registrations increased in May despite persistent geopolitical headwinds weighing on outlook, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, or ACEA, said Tuesday. New car registrations grew 3.2 percent on a yearly basis in May but slower than the 5.1 percent rise in April and 12.5 percent surge in March.

    India's private sector activity continued to expand strongly in June, though the pace of growth eased to a three-month low amid cost pressures and softening demand conditions. The HSBC flash composite output index dropped to 57.4 in June from 59.3 in May. The manufacturing PMI dropped to a 3-month low of 54.5 in June from 55.0 in May, and the services PMI fell to 57.4 from 58.0.

    Singapore's consumer price inflation held steady for the second straight month in May.The consumer price index, or CPI, climbed 1.8 percent year-over-year in May, the same as in the previous two months. The expected increase was 2.0 percent. Services inflation slowed to 1.3 percent in May from 1.5 percent amid a steeper decline in telecommunication services prices.

    Japan's private sector activity grew the most in three months in June, underpinned by faster increase in manufacturing output and a renewed upturn in services activity, flash survey data compiled by S&P Global showed Tuesday. The flash composite output index rose to 52.5 in May from 51.1 in the previous month. A score above 50.0 indicates expansion.
