Slovenia's 2011 Jobless Rate Increases

Slovenia's unemployment rate increased to 8.2 percent in 2011 from 7.3 percent in the previous year, final data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia revealed Friday.

The jobless rate grew substantially for the fourth consecutive year in 2011. The rate was 5.9 percent in 2009.

The average registered unemployment rate was 11.8 percent in 2011, which means that it grew by 1.1 percentage point over the previous year. The unemployment rate in 2011 was 75.1 percent higher than in 2008.
