Turkey Unemployment Rate Falls In April

Unemployment rate in Turkey declined in April, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed Monday.

The jobless rate was 9 percent in April, lower than 9.9 percent in April last year. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 212,000 from last year to 2.43 million.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate fell to 9 percent from 9.1 percent in the preceding month. A year ago, the rate was 10 percent.

The employment rate rose to 45.2 percent from 45 in the previous month.
