Western Alliance Bancorporation (WAL) reported earnings for first quarter that Drops, from last year

The company's bottom line totaled $178.9 million, or $1.65 per share. This compares with $195.9 million, or $1.79 per share, last year.

Excluding items, Western Alliance Bancorporation reported adjusted earnings of $241.0 million or $2.22 per share for the period.

The company's revenue for the period rose 31.0% to $1.019 billion from $778.0 million last year.
