Lithuanian Inflation Rises In July

Lithuania's annual inflation increased in July after holding steady in the previous month, data released by the Department of Statistics showed Wednesday.

Consumer price inflation accelerated to 2.8 percent in July from 2.5 percent in June, which was in line with the rate recorded in the preceding month.

Food prices rose 2.4 percent annually during the month, while clothing and footwear prices decreased 1.7 percent. Housing costs and utility prices were higher by 7 percent compared to a year earlier, and transportation costs by 2.5 percent.

Month-on-month, consumer prices remained unchanged in July, after dropping 0.1 percent in the previous month, data showed.
