Retail sales in Italy dropped more than expected by economists in July, data released by statistical office Istat showed Wednesday.
Sales fell 0.2 percent month-on-month on a seasonally adjusted basis in July. This was in contrast to no change predicted by economists.
Annually, retail sales dropped 3.2 percent on an unadjusted basis. Economists had forecast a 0.8 percent fall.
