The U.K. labor force survey results are due out at 4:30 am ET. The number of people claiming unemployment benefits is expected to remain flat. The jobless rate for three months to September is seen at 7.9 percent.

The pound showed mixed trading against its major rivals ahead of the report. While the sterling held steady versus the US dollar, it edged lower against the euro and the Swiss franc. The pound rallied against the yen due to across the board weakening of the latter.

As of 4:25 am ET, British sterling was trading at 1.5030 against the Swiss franc, 127.11 against the yen, 0.8015 against the euro and 1.5890 against the US dollar.
