The euro halted early Asian session's rally against the Swiss franc and the yen ahead of the data, holding steady at 1.2050 and 106.88, respectively around 1:55 am ET.
The common currency extended its sideways trend versus the U.K. sterling and the U.S. dollar before the data, trading in narrow ranges of 0.8102- 0.8095 against the former and 1.2975-1.2993 against the latter.
