Germany's ZEW economic sentiment survey data is due at 5.00 am ET. The sentiment index is seen improving to -11.5 in December from -15.7 in November. The current conditions index is expected to rise to 6 from 5.4.
Eurozone's ZEW survey results for December are also expected around the same time. The sentiment index was at minus 2.6 in November.
The euro edged higher against its major rivals ahead of the data. As of 4:55 am ET, the common currency was trading at 106.90 against the yen, 1.2960 against the dollar, 1.2117 against the Swiss franc and 0.8060 against the pound.
