Riverbed Technology (RVBD) announced that it has closed its acquisition of OPNET Technologies Inc. (OPNT). The company said that the Riverbed Cascade business unit and OPNET will be combined into the new Riverbed Performance Management business unit and will be led by General Manager Paul Brady.
In October 2012, Riverbed Technology had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire OPNET Technologies, a provider of solutions for application and network performance management, for $43 per share in cash and stock. The deal represented an equity value of $1 billion and an enterprise value of $921 million.
