In the Asian session on Thursday, the Malaysian Ringgit strengthened against the U.S. dollar following country's industrial production data that expanded more than forecast in November.
Data from the Department of Statistics showed that production rose 7.5 percent from a year earlier in November. Economists had expected a 5.9 percent gain. In October, production rose an upwardly revised 6.4 percent.
Manufacturing production gained 7.6 percent year-on-year, following a revised 6.6 percent rise in the previous month.
The ringgit that closed Wednesday's trading at 3.0390 per dollar advanced 0.13 percent to a 6-day high of 3.0351. On the upside, the ringgit is likely to break 3.02 level.
