Pound Strengthens Amid BoE Minutes, UK Claimant Count Data

Bank of England's minutes of its January rate-setting meeting and the U.K. claimant count rate for December have been released at 4:30 am ET.

The pound edged higher against its major rivals following the release of the minutes and data. As of 4:33 am ET, the sterling was trading at 140.14 against the yen, 0.8390 against the euro, 1.4752 against the Swiss franc and 1.5870 against the dollar.
