"Moonshiners" star Tickle was arrested for public intoxication last week in Virginia. The Discovery Channel star, whose full name is Steven Ray Tickle, was drinking by himself while parked in a convenience store parking lot when Danville police found him.
The officer on the scene said in a news release that there was a strong odor of alcohol "as well as normal indications of being intoxicated" when he approached the car around 2:40 p.m. at the Charley's Stop and Shop at 103 E. Franklin Turnpike.
Officers apparently gave Tickle the option of getting picked up, but when he could not find anyone to come get him, took him to jail. The Danville Police Department said that Tickle had to be carried into the jail. He was eventually released from jail later that day.
The Discovery Channel has yet to issue any comment on the incident. "Moonshiners" has aired on the Discovery Channel since late 2011.
