Poland's broad money supply increased at a faster rate than expected by economists in March, official data showed Friday.

The M3, or broad money supply, increased 1.3 percent on a monthly basis in March, the National Bank of Poland said. The growth rate was faster than 0.6 percent economists had forecast.

Among components of the broad money, currency in circulation climbed 3.3 percent sequentially during the month, while deposits and other liabilities increased by 1. The remaining components of the M3 recorded a cumulative growth of 5.1 percent month-on-month, data showed.
